Beezid Scam – Penny Auctions

Beezid Scam – Penny Auctions
Beezid is a penny auction website where you can buy some really neat, expensive stuff for prices that are considered pocket change. The whole concept of the penny auction is that each time you bid, you only increase the price by one penny, so on one hand the product doesn’t go out of your price range fast, but on the other hand bidders tend to stick around. So how can any legitimate business afford to sell you merchandise worth around 2000 dollars for a ridiculous price like 60 dollars? The answer is quite simple: a cleaver business model! Bidders are charged for bidding, so each time you bid, you actually need to pay a bidding price. The products all start at $0 and for each one dollar raised people need to bid 100 times in total. Multiply that times 60 and you’ll get 6000 bids, so no matter how low they charge for a single bid, in the end the item is well paid for. Bids are bought in packages, and you can even bid on bidding packages in order to get them cheaper. All and all it’s very fun, to watch, fun to participate and if you’re lucky enough, you might get something you really like for a shockingly low price.

Gunbroker Scam – Guns for Sale, Online Gun Auction

Gunbroker Scam – Guns for Sale, Online Gun Auction
GunBroker is a website dedicated to all things hunting, shooting, and weapons related. What’s weird about it is that it’s international, so it means that people from around the world can bid on the weapons. So far, stores like these have had success enabling sales only within the US, because of the universal appliance of the US Constitution. How sales occur on international level is beyond my knowledge. Still, it’s very well organized and has a stable growth of users each month, offering more and more interesting weapons for sale. If you’re within the US, buying and selling is quite simple. You just need to have an FFL license or know an FFL license holder in your state. That simplifies the process greatly and offers some protection against guns being sold to people unfit to handle them. One thing caught my attention though. GunBroker has the lowest BBB rating possible. It’s because of unresolved customer complaints, which can be found all over. Generally all are regarding charges being billed on member’s accounts without their knowledge. However, there is no government action against this company, and it has tons of customers, so it can’t be all that bad.

Guns America Scam – Guns for Sale, Gun Auctions

Guns America Scam – Guns for Sale, Gun Auctions
For all those lovers of the Second Amendment of the US constitution, Guns America is the place to be. I don’t believe that this was something the Founding Fathers had in mind when they coined the US constitution, but it’s as good idea as any other since you can easily buy a gun anywhere in the US. Still, it’s a pretty amazing and informative place to be, and aside from offering tons of guns, it offers quite good information on them too. You can read reviews on all kinds of weapons written by beginners or experts describing their experience. Also, a lot of support equipment can be found like scopes, holsters, ammo and anything you might need for shooting and hunting. You can even offer to sell your guns too, quite like any other second hand merchandise online. The only difference is that if you want to ship it, you have to send it through a FFL dealer and the buyer has to receive it through an FFL dealer too. That doesn’t complicate things a lot, since it has been common practice for years even before Guns America even existed. Trophy guns can be found here too. Nice collection peaces show up on the market now and then, and generally are scooped up by someone immediately. If you love guns, check it out, but only make an account if you wish to purchase something, because I hear you can only unsubscribe from the newsletter and not delete your account entirely, and that seems to bother some people.

Bill Me Later Scam

Bill Me Later Scam
Bill Me Later is a proprietary payment method now owned by PayPal that is offered only to medium or large businesses. The name is pretty self-exploratory: you buy something today, and you are billed for it later on. It’s a wonderful way to avoid going broke during the holiday shopping or when on a shopping spree. Bill Me Later works pretty much like any other credit card. It even shows up as a separate account on your credit report. Bill Me Later is easy to use but it also has the same high interest rates if you are irresponsible with your debt. It doesn’t review your credit report on each transaction, but it does so periodically to provide you with the maximum buying power possible. It truly is a wonderful payment method, and it’s available at most of the popular places to shop online like: eBay, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, American Airways, Hotels.com and many others. Having in mind that it works just like a credit card, and that it charges pretty much the same like one but offers delayed billing, it truly is something worth considering.

Robert Allen Scam – Make Money, Real Estate Investing

Robert Allen Scam – Make Money, Real Estate Investing
Robert G. Allen is an author and a seminar host who throughout the years has released quite a few products on the market like: One Minute Millionaire, Multiple Streams of Income, Creating Wealth and Internet Income System. He has become very famous for his work with real estate and home income courses.  Most of what is offered is generally clever marketing and nothing more. The information he gives are all public knowledge and you can pretty much collect them from the Internet or a public library. His success is based on being able to present the facts in different light. He makes promises like giving you the ability to earn $300 per day doing little to no work, supported with stories of a single mother that managed to settle her financial worries by entering his program. The only way that you can actually make money of it is to implement by yourself the same principle of dishonest marketing that you fell for in the beginning. All and all, what he does is not illegal, but wont help you a lot, so if you’re trying to make an honest living, seek it elsewhere.

Cavalry Portfolio Services Scam – Debt Collection

Cavalry Portfolio Services Scam – Debt Collection
Calvary Portfolio Services are a third party debt collection company. Third party debt collectors are the bottom feeders of the debt collection business. They basically buy out the loans from companies where you owe and try to collect the debt themselves. It’s a legitimate practice, and they have the full right to ask for their money. If you own up to your debt, they do offer to give you a fair payment plan. However, in most cases you can hear that people are dissatisfied with their approach. There are complaints about phone harassment and the company trying to collect on a nonexistent loan. Also, there are cases where the company allegedly tried to enforce outdated loans but if that was a common practice, there would have been government action against it by now. These kinds of companies always come up a bit strong, so bad reputation comes with the territory. If you receive a letter or a call from them claiming you have unpaid debt, inform yourself the best you can about what you owe and make a fair assessment on the legitimacy of their claims.

Luxe Marketing Scam – Real Estate Sales Training

Luxe Marketing Scam – Real Estate Sales Training
Seeking for a job, I can’t really remember how many times I have encountered companies looking extremely legit offering something that seems too good to be true. As much as I like to believe it, when something is too good to e true, it always is. Luxe Marketing is a multi-level marketing company that has changed its name a few times over the years. It puts on ads offering “Account Executive” ad other attractive well paid positions to people fresh out of college with no experience. Fortunately the Internet has already done its best to blackball this company. Anyone who googles it, can find tons of complaints, revealing it to be nothing more than a scam. The once that have gone through the process of applying for a job there, testify that once they were called in for an interview the job offer changed and that as a part of the “interview” they were used to market the products of the company door to door. Always keep a watchful eye when applying online, and do your research before you decide to come in for an interview. That way, you might save yourself from wasting working days on companies that are not worth the time.

Fiverr Scam – Freelance

Fiverr Scam – Freelance
Ever wonder what you’re willing to do for $5? Well, Fiverr is probably the place where you can find out. It’s a business started by a couple of Israeli Internet entrepreneurs that got the idea of implementing a concept much like the one of the $1 store. It’s all quite simple really. The products offered are freelance jobs. You can either offer them as a company or as a freelancer marketing your skills. It’s really quite surprising to see what can be done for the price of just $5. Many of the users are hobbyist and make maybe even less than a hundred dollars in total per month, but it can be a lucrative business as some have already proven by earning more than a thousand dollars in the same amount of time. It doesn’t cost a cent to market your skills, so if you have a skill that you think you can turn into easy profit, you can certainly give it a shot.
